Spring is in the air at the Morrison with the launch of their new Morrison Grill seasonal menus for both Day and Night. In this Spring Summer Menu, his fourth creation for the Morrison, Chef Sushil has added spice and brightness, a range of new dishes, and an emphasis on lighter options for the warmer months.
“I was inspired by the bright, fresh summer days that we are all looking forward to”, said Chef Sushil. “We choose only the best locally sourced and seasonal Irish produce complemented with expert seasoning and quality herbs and spices. All of our dishes are freshly prepared to order, with the majority of our meats prepared in our Josper charcoal grill, a unique way of cooking which preserves natural flavour and taste.”
Chef Sushil’s pick of the new A La Carte menu would be the starter of the Josper & tea house Smoked Chicken and Mango Salad(€13) served with red onion, courgette, avocado, tomato with lemon and lime, from the day menu. For main, from the night menu, the Morrison’s take on Surf and Turf is an elegant Múir is tír (€25) with slow roasted rib of beef with balsamic cooking liquor served with Josper grilled prawns on samphire with béarnaise sauce. For an indulgent but surprisingly light finish the Chocolate Nemesis(€6.50) is served with cherry anglaise, popping candy and a Madagascar vanilla ice cream.
By Day, the Morrison is the ideal spot for a drink, coffee, afternoon tea or relaxed lunch, a quick visit, socialising, or a business meeting, taking advantage of the superfast free wifi. The Morrison Grill by Day menu offers Sandwiches, Soup, Salad, Burgers, Bar Classics and Dessert. A recent innovation is the Morrison’s Breakfast Barista – bespoke unlimited coffee drinks as part of the Morrison Breakfast.
The Tomato & Roast Pepper Soup (€6) is served either hot or cold with a stick of celery, treacle bread and a cute miniature bottle of Tobasco to spice things up. Stylish new Sandwiches include a Josper Cheese Steak (€15.50) with Josper grilled steak served up on Vienna bread with Cajun mayo and Jalapenos, or the Meatball Marinara (€12.50) juicy meatballs in a soft roll, coated in tomato sauce with peppers and gherkins.
By Night, the low lights, Liffey views, live music at weekends and relaxed bar atmosphere make the Morrison Grill a great dining option. Try the Castletownbere Scallops (€13) served on the shell with truffle mash, tomato concasse and a thermidor sauce. TheSpiced Crab Salad (€10) is served in a quirky fashion, sealed in a tin to be opened at the table. Making the most of the Josper, the main Josper Sticky Rum Chicken (€23) has a spiced rum BBQ glaze complemented by parmesan sweet potatoes. The smoked mango salsa really sets off the Fruit Tart (€6.50) on a base of shortcrust pastry with raspberry compote.
As well as full A La Carte options for Day and Night, the Morrison also offers Afternoon Tea, a Gentlemans Tea, Kid’s Menu and Bar Classics – perfect for any occasion or time of day.
